Exporting Data

For analysis, insights and further visualization capabilities, it would be useful to export the data Tandem that Tandem receives. For instance, the time-series data of various sensors can be viewed in Tandem charts, but is there a way to export that data to a csv for further visualization, juxtaposition and analysis?

As another example, its not possible to get time-series heatmaps, since heatmaps only show latest data. Assuming that all sensors are updated at the same time, it would be useful to view heatmaps at different times of day - or automatically export them for different times of day.

Is this at all possible at the moment? What is the extent of data that can be exported, apart from the PDF export from dashboards?

Hi @hammad_haroon ,

Being able to see historical data via heat mapping is something that we have received a lot of feedback and requests for. The team is actively looking into this, so this additional feedback and insight is excellent.

As for exporting Streams data from Tandem, that is currently not possible. Is it not possible to export the data from the authoring system? or is comparing the data between what's in Tandem and what's in the authoring system what you are looking to do? Any feedback on this is appreciated.

There is a way to compare the readings for two Streams from different Connections. See the attached video.

Additionally, and I'm not sure this solves anything you have mentioned. Still, just in case, I have attached a video on exporting the Connections info from the inventory panel. A similar workflow can be done for asset data when proper filters are selected.

hey Jessica, regarding "Is it not possible to export the data from the authoring system? or is comparing the data between what's in Tandem and what's in the authoring system what you are looking to do?":

IMO one of the best things about Tandem is the input of several different sensor types and products - lets say, the data types are all different, and the softwares disconnected from each other. Perhaps some of them don't even store data, just stream it live. Tandem allows all of these as numerical inputs,  and has the ability to store data.

Since Tandem doesn't have analytics, and lets say we want to develop predictive AI models based on historical data, we would need to export that data elsewhere.

So exporting that data elsewhere from the sensors would be a divergent branch - one branch going to whatever we're using for analysis and another going to Tandem. This would be an option, sure, if Tandem is not going to have the ability to export or stream data from itself. But that lessens the importance of Tandem in an overall workflow.

P.S. This is separate, and thank you for the video about syncing charts, but to allow one chart to display both/multiple data would be much more valuable! I hope we have that option in the future.

Thanks for the additional insight @hammad_haroon ! I have logged this feedback with the product team.
