Is it me, or after today update, fusion can't save as obj format anymore? I have done yesterday, now they appear as empty model. Running version 2.0.2989 on W10. Any idea? Thanks.

Hi @lucartl
Thanks for posting! While we did not intend to change anything about saving to the OBJ format with the update, it appears that mesh bodies saved as OBJs are creating empty files. It appears that you can still save T-spline control frames as OBJ files, but anything defined as a mesh body in Fusion will create an empty file when saved as an OBJ.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention! I have logged a bug report (FUS-32220) with our development team about this behavior, which we will be looking into. I will circle back here to provide an update when I have more information about a resolution for this error.
In the meantime, could you use the STL format for your meshes? I did not see any issues when working with STLs. If you cannot use STLs, please let me know what the purpose of using the OBJ format is and we will look for another solution - if you need the OBJ format you could try saving an STL in Fusion, bringing the STL into Autodesk Remake, and exporting an OBJ file from there.
Hopefully this helps! Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions - I am happy to assist.
Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for your quick reply. At the moment I am using Fusion just as an hobby, but I'm already hooked, so who knows! Basically I'm building some bits that I would like to use in DAZ Studio, and the obj format is the one I have used so far with no issues. I have downloaded Autodesk Remake to try it. I'm sure in the meantime you will come up with a solution.
Regards
Luca
Hi Paul,
Any news? Because I'm using Autodesk Remake at the moment, but It seems to me that I don't obtain exactly the same results in terms of render quality of the objects as before.
Thanks.
Luca
