Is there seriously no option to buy a copy of Autocad LT outright?

Our needs are simple and we absolutely do not require a $400/year subscription.. Yet for 20 minutes clicking back and forth on the store site, I cant seem to find any option to purchase a basic copy of Autocad LT..

Have you really moved everything over to a non-option subscription service?

thanks,

Brett

I don't know about you but I hardly consider myself a "hobby user". This used to be my livelyhood until they priced me out of the market.

I just use the activation code printed on the cd box my 2014 version of LT came in and have done so a few times over the years when upgrading the PC.

In early 2023 Autodesk sent me a link to download a version of the 2014 installer when the CD version wouldn't load properly, very fair & good of them I thought.

The 2014 version may still work for me on personal projects but it doesn't work for electrical, engineering and architectural firms who use the updated version. 2014 is too old and outdated to translate into 2023 or 2024 versions. Thanks for your post.

I have the same issue.  Agree totally.  The move to forced subscription service everything is predatory in my opinion.   Smaller contractors like myself are fighting to stay alive and an extra payment every month is damaging.   Why can't I buy and older version like 2021 and use it for five years and then purchase a cheap update?   Nope, they seem to want full control of my productivity process.  Maybe that's their intent?  to limit free enterprise?

Renting is always more costly.  I figured out the hours and tokens I would have to buy for their pay-as-you-go option and guess what?  Its MORE money.  When I have a project on the boards I put in a ton of hours.  So the pay as you go option is for kids in school.  Oh wait- they get it for FREE>    SUCKS.    Businesses used to have integrity and an interest in keeping their customers happy.  This seems to be the new model for business today- forced compliance and control, with your private work under the thumb of bog brother.  Pretty oppressive in my humble opinion...  Seems you would rather advocate for big brother than for the working man.  I see....

if cost is a challenging hurdle, consider other viable options that are more value-priced

This is a good suggestion, however most often, my software has to match the firm for whom I am a contractor.

Which Autodesk is keenly aware of. They have spent many years building this business model and many people need their software. So our choice is to accept it as a cost of doing business, or moving on with something else.
