Shear Check - VRdmax not calculated

Hi there, I would like to ask what is the reason why ASBD is not calculating the VRdmax. Kindly refer to the snapshot for the reference.

Currently using ASBD 2020 version.

Hi, thanks for including the version number and great screen shots. A very interesting question. It may have been corrected in the latest version but I can't test this without a data file. Could you please zip your data file up and attach it to a reply so that I can investigate further. Thanks.

Thanks for the file.

Upon investigation, one of the NDP values is set to zero in your file, causing the shear strength to be set to zero!

To fix this, go to Nationally Determined Parameters EN1992-2, Clause 3, 3.1.2(102) Maximum concrete class for shear CMax,shear and set to a suitable value, e.g. 50MPa.

For EU+UK, shear strength is limited to CMax,shear.  Since it was set to zero in your file, VRd,max ended up as zero.

We will add a check to ensure the shear strength is taken as the concrete strength, if CMax,shear is not set, in a future update.

Hi Simon,

I am facing almost similar issue as the above.
I have counter checked with the method that you have provided, however the value for my Vrdmax is slightly differ.

Is it possible if you could assist me in resolving this matter under the case of "ULS Max Vy".

As attached is also my sbd file.

Hi Jason

Thanks for supplying your file.  What exactly is the issue that you are seeing?

For loadcase SL5, V_Rdmax on the form matches the printout, which seems correct calculation (in 2023.0.2.100).
