Stingray install error

I'm getting an error trying to install Stingray, and has to do with not being able to load adlmpit.dll (127) ! , in user's appdata dir.

Oddly, in my  user/user DIr, there is NO appdata dir.

 I ran this as admin.

As noted LY and ue4 installed perfectly fine so I"ve no idea whats going on here.

TY to anyone that can get me past this.

IE: Can I safely ignore these errors and keep installing ?

TY so much

lee

The "AppData" data folder is most likely there.

It's usually a hidden folder.

If not, create it:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData

and try again.

I spoke to our build engineer who indicated that he is not aware that we store anything there at this location during install.

Let us know.

You're right its very hidden, which is odd as normally its not for me anyway.

I rebooted today, redownloaded just in case, and still getting this here in Windows 10 pro 64 bit English:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Failed to load c:\users\neigh\appdata\local\temp\_ai76bd.tmp\setup\adlmpit.dll (127)!
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

THen this one:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
adlmPITValidateKey was not found in C:\Users\neigh\AppData\Local\Temp\_AI76BD.tmp\Setup\adlmPIT.dll!
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Oddly enough here again, after those 2 errors, it still continues to install as if nothing were wrong,- but I doubt it is so I"m cancelling install until I hear more.

Thx for any ideas on this.

Hello Lee,

Which version of Stingray are you trying to install?  I should be able to isolate it better knowing that.

Thanks!

I responded vi email but here is also fine. I tried to install the very latest,-about 4 or 5 days ago. I doubt a new one was released in that short time so that should suffice.

We actually have released a new version of Stingray yesterday afternoon.  Can you please try it out and see if it works for you?

Stingray 1.7.1177.0

Thanks!

I have no idea whats going on,but getting these errors again.

I say 'ok' each time, and the install keeps going, but I"d rather know why its doing it, and will it affect the install in any way ?

thx

That is interesting.  However, this shouldn't affect the installation in any way and you should still be able to Launch Stingray.

There is an application called DependencyWalker, it opens DLLs to see if there are any issues with it, whether it being corrupted, missing dependencies, etc.  Could you open it and point it to <Installer Directory>\Setup\adlmPIT.dll ?  It may give a clearer reasoning as to why this is happening.

Thanks!

Doesn't officially support windows 10, but I ran based on windows 10 compat settings, and got this:

Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found.
Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Error: A circular dependency was detected.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

thx

Could you provide a screenshot of the main window?  The errors provided sounds like something is missing but I cannot really tell from the error message alone.

Thanks!

Hello,

Could you send me the install logs?  It doesn't appear that there is an issue with the dll itself.  The logs are located here:

C:\Users\<uerName>\AppData\Local\Temp\Stingray<versionNumber>Install.log

Thanks!

Hello Lee,

I noticed you are using a web installer for installation.  I cannot seem to replicate this on my end, but it is possible the network isn't downloading all the necessary files due to possible connection issues/drops/etc.  There is another download available for those with possible connection issues on the trial page:

Could you try using the Download Manager version?

Thanks!
