Setting Up Pre-Rendered Panoramas For VR (Left and Right eye images)

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to go about setting up pre-rendered panoramas (ones that have already been created in other software such as 3DS Max or Lumion) inside stingray for VR?

Since VR panoramas spit out images for both the left and right eye, i'm not sure how to set up textures in stingray so that one is seen by the left eye and another by the right. My colleague has got this working in unity, which involves one eye masking the other.

So far ive managed to set it up so that the viewer is stationary inside a sphere with the texture mapped to the inside of the sphere. This only works for one eye texture so even though it technically works, it lacks that 3D depth that both eye images will give you.

Has anyone got any ideas how to do this?

Rendering out a 360 degree spherical map and then putting that on a skydome is probably your best bet. There is a tutorial on that here:

Is this for an environment in vr? If so, render out a 360 panorama in hdri and map it to the skydome in the shading environment. What is the panorama and what are you trying to use it for?
