URGENT!! Smoke 2013 - Export miscellaneous errors - Showstopper.

Hello all,

I'm coming back with new issues with Smoke 2013 and after two weeks of trying to work out solution, my IT and I decided to contact you to see if you had suggestions and/or solutions as we are encountering various difficulties with the backburner manager and exports.

Know that we mostly used this page here for troubleshooting, with no concrete results  and everything on the Service Monitor is all green.

What is odd is that depending of the timelines, I don't always encounter issues during exports.

In Smoke.

The errors includes messages such as:

• Backburner is not installed correctly. Can't access cache and export. (I couldn't reproduce the error to get the correct message)
• Failed to consolidate clip for timeline export.
• For some sequence timeline, Smoke will simply freeze and here is the log I get:

• Certain jobs have been suspended( see screenshot 001 attached) with the following error: prod-222 [error] 0 transcoderAdapter.C:621 02/08/17:14:29:17.669 Current task is not responding.
• Other jobs remain active but are waiting for the server to starter but all info on the service monitor are green and have been restarted successfully (see screenshot 003 attached).

Hi,

According to the information you shared, the export issues you encountered are definitely not related to the same root cause (some seem to be related to stone+wire configuration and some other might be related to the location of the media on disk).

There is no magic solution here and each of them will have taken one by one and investigated separately.

As you understand, this is something that can hardly be done through a discussion forum.

If you are current on subscription, I strongly suggest you to open a case with our technical support team so one of our engineer can have a look and see what it going on.

Thank you for your response, that's what I feared. Not that I expect a magic solution, but pointers to where we should look and investigate. Being a beginner in Smoke and taking over the software and drive without the previous editor with me, I have to admit that my knowledge is very small on the matter. I'll try to see what I can do about the media on disks.

As for our subscription, we have no idea, the IT manager is currently on sick leave, hardly reachable and if we want to get any information to be able to contact your Technical Support team, we'll have to wait until Wednesday, another former member of our team is coming to give us a hand on various mater, will present him with our issues and ask about the possibilities of contacting your team.
