Newly installed Smoke gives DLMPD issues...

Dear Autodesk Support!

We recently reformatted our iMac with the intent to set it up for the new Smoke 2017 Version.

Setup as follows:

iMac5k 64GB RAM

OSX Sierra (latest Version)

Blackmagic Video Driver 10.6 

Smoke 2017 Update1 SF1

Everything seemed fine first when we received this on the second startup:

DLMPD: Warning,Multi-Purpose daemon not responding, please exit Smoke and restart the Multi-Purpose daemon using the service monitor.

All Services Green in Service Monitor, after restarting the daemon the error still showed up on start. (same on reboot)

Curiously if you just ignore the error and keep working in Smoke without a restart it seems to work. The message still pops up occasionally once in a while. (whenever it seems to check on the shared libraries, sometimes the check passes with no error)

What we tried so far:

checked the whole network stack, assigned fixed IP, setup a clean machine name and entered it to the hosts file, everything resolves correctly.

the error still shows up radnomly after these adjustments but curiously less often.

Either DLmpd is not running or the required plugin module (Sys v1.08.00) is not installed.
You can verify which DLmpd modules are installed on your system with the following shell command:
pkgutil --pkgs | grep com.autodesk.dlmpd
To start DLmpd:
1- in a shell, login as root;
2- execute "/opt/Autodesk/lib64/DLmpdctl restart".

Running pkgutil --pkgs | grep com.autodesk.dlmpd yields the following:

running execute "/opt/Autodesk/lib64/DLmpdctl restart" seems to have no effect.

still brainstorming over this. new theory. Is Smoke 2017 trying to connect to other daemons on the network?

Hi,

This is a bug with dlmpd and Sierra. It's been fixed in the latest versions of flame, so the fix should be in the next smoke update.

Hello, we have the same problem. Do you know when a new update will appear. Or biggest problem with this bug is that our Smoke 2017 don't let us archive our projects. How we can solve this problem until don't appears a new update?

The issue you are referring to was addressed in Smoke 2018.

Are you still experiencing the issue in Smoke 2018?
