Sketchbook Designer

Sketchbook Designer

THE WORST THING AUTODESK EVER DID WAS TO DISCONTINUE SKETCHBOOK DESIGNER.

I purchased the whole product design suite 2014 to get Sketchbook Designer and then it was discontinued but it is still the best 2d software on the market.

Please bring back vector layers and tools to Sketchbook, it would be better and more user friendly than anything else.

Even though it crashes regularly I still prefer it to Photoshop, but I worry that I will not be able to use it one day when it is not supported by operating systems etc.

I totally agree with you on this. Even though I just had a trial version. I like the freedom that the vector portion gave.

I am also wondering, why autodesk stopped implementing vectors in sketchbook. With the combination of vector and pixel layers in one applikation autodesk already recognized the signs of the times 10 years ago!

_ fast »sketching« of vectors on vector layers with a pen tool
_ easy handling of the smooth lines afterwards: modify position, direction, lenght, copy&paste, change thickness...

_ add also pixel layers to colorize and export the whole drawing as psd.

Adobe has still enough customers for the CS, especially Photoshop. Now, serif has taken the lead with its affinity publisher...

On top of these, there is the weird, unsharp differenciated namings sketchbook / sketchbook pro / sketchbook designer and the unclear bundeling in different suites to promote the rent model?

It is not even possible to buy the old version anymore – even not at autodesk resellers.

That's a pity – really!

The free version of sketchbook is for me – as professional designer – worthless.
