Autodesk Sketchbook cursor not working

Hi may someone please help, when i first start a new drawing my cursor is fine, but late somehow it becomes a black circle with a line through, and it wont let me draw or anything. Please help

I would create a new layer.  If you enter Text, that text is on  a separate layer that allows you to change the text you have typed in.

For me that is when i am on a hidden layer
