I would like to have time dependent material properties in MES (nonlinear analysis). The input would be similar to temperature dependent properties, but replacing the Temperature column with Time.
A good example of where this would be used is to simulate the curing of concrete. Before it sets, the modulus of elasticity is low. Once it sets, the modulus is high. Temperature dependent properties do not work because there are steps where the model has the same temperature but different material properties.
Another use would be to "remove" parts from the analysis. Material properties cannot change in a restart analysis, so you cannot stop an analysis, suppress a part (or change its properties to "0") and restart. But with time dependent properties, you could essentially remove the effect of parts from the analysis. (There would be limitations since the parts would still be in the model but weak, and distortion may be a problem. But it could solve some problems that are not possible currently.)
