What unit are the modal mass participation factors

So I've found the chart that lists the mass participation in each mode and axis. What unit are the results under each axis? See picture

Hi @melfio 

 

It looks like you are not using Autodesk Simulation Mechanical software; therefore, you might need to ask the company that created the software you are using.

 

Otherwise, my guess is the mass participation is in units of mass.

  • What is the total mass of your model?
  • What are the units of mass in your analysis? (Remember: mass = force/gravity.)

Hi Leo,

 

The Help page "Mass Participation Factors result" indicates the values are percent. 0% indicates that none of the mass is vibrating in the direction at that frequency; 100% indicates that all of the mass is vibrating in that direction at that frequency.
