Slow processing times.

I'm a mechanical engineering student and I use Inventor 2017 as well as Simulation Mechanical 2017. My workstation is Core i7 6700k with a GTX 1060. I find simulation analysis times to be quite long. Can I add a Quadro card as a compute card alongside the 1060? Will I benifit from this? If so, will Inventor and Sim Mech use the Quadro to speed up calculation times? Thanks for any help.

Hello jusbgrub,

Simulation Mechanical does not take advantage of the GPU in doing FEA calculations.

Perhaps changes can be made to the model to speed up the analysis.

Thank you for the timely response. While running stress simulations with nodal forces I observed that only one of my cores was in full use. Is the software not multi-threaded? Is there any way to have it take full advantage of my system? If I decide to add the Quadro card, will AutoCad and Inventor use it as a compute card and leave the GTX 1060 to run the primary display?
