Simulation Mechanical Update – Discontinuation in March 2018

Hello,

As a valued Autodesk Simulation Mechanical customer, we’d like to make you aware of changes that may affect you. In order to meet the growing needs of our customers and the manufacturing community, following its 2018 version release, Simulation Mechanical will be going through a phased discontinuation.

How and when will this change take place?

  • Effective March 21, 2017, new subscriptions to Simulation Mechanical will not be available for purchase, but existing subscriptions or maintenance plans can be renewed.

  • Effective March 21, 2018, Simulation Mechanical will be discontinued and renewals will not be available—and no new product updates will be delivered.

  • Autodesk will continue to deploy critical fixes for Simulation Mechanical through 2019

What does this mean for you?
You can continue to use your software, receive support, and access previous versions of your software until your contract ends. Maintenance plan customers can use their perpetual license software indefinitely.

What we’re doing to help you through this transition
We would like you to experience the next generation of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) being built on the Fusion platform. In early April 2017, all subscribers to Simulation Mechanical will receive an annual subscription to Autodesk Fusion Ultimate and 1000 cloud credits added to your Autodesk Account, at no additional charge.

What does this mean for the Simulation Mechanical Forum and Idea Board?
We plan on leaving the forum open as traffic dictates to support those still using the software. The idea board has been closed down and placed in read-only mode. On behalf of the Simulation Mechanical product team we would like to thank each and every one of our amazing customers who have shared their ideas and feedback with us over the last few years.

To learn more about the decision to discontinue Simulation Mechanical and alternative solutions to address your mechanical simulation needs, please review this FAQ or contact your Autodesk Authorized Reseller or Autodesk sales representative.
