I am trying to install Simulation Mechanical V18 on my windows PC with 4GB ram and 1Tb HDD. During installation it is showing that simulation job server is not able to start ... I sought the problem solutions online like going to Task manager and then turning it on - but from there also the service is denying to get started . I downloaded Job server Manager separately and tried to run it ... but didn't succeeded. Help me regarding this !! ThankYou

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Simulation Mechanical

The key question is why is your computer denying the Job Manager? Is it related to anti-virus software? Firewall? What are the messages, dialogs, or other indication that it is giving? (If we knew what the text of the message was, we might be able to track down the problem more easily.)

If the Simulation Job Manager Local Service is not starting, then this article may help. It shows how to start the job server, etc. See Analysis goes to running or scheduled and never solves in Simulation Mechanical.

In the mean time, you can run the analysis from a command prompt. This will at least let you continue with your work. See How to run a Simulation Mechanical analysis from the command prompt (DOS window)

Hi @Anonymous

  • My guess is that your antivirus software is interfering with the installation and local service. Have you tried to disable it when installing the software?
  • Or maybe you need (a higher) administrator level.
  • What does your IT or computer Administrator say about starting the local service?

I looked for those error messages, but I did not find anything specific for them. Note that the Simulation Job Manager is used by both Simulation Mechanical and Autodesk Moldflow. So if you can find any information related to your problems in a Moldflow article, it could solve your problem, too.

It appears that the "Error 1053 The service did not respond ... " is a generic Windows message, so a general Google search may turn up something.

I have not seen that type of font is that shown in the images you provided. Is this some type of Windows emulator? Is it a real version of Windows?

I don't have any antivirus software on my PC, and I am trying to do this with admin a/c only and I have changed the fonts manually. Its only 'mechanical simulation job' that is not running and denying upon manual interruption. Is there any problem with software/job file !! I found to change job starting commands that I have done, but still not working. !!
