Simulation Mechanical 2015 on Cluster

Hi all,

I was wondering if it was still possible to use Sim Mech 2015 to simulate on a local cluster since the MUMPS solver is no longer supported. If not, is the only viable option to use the Autodesk 360 cloud services?

Thanks in advance,

Jacopo.

Hi Jacopo,

In 2015 we switched the method for handling jobs over to the Simulation Job Manager which caused us to lose the cluster and remote solving functionality. There is an IdeaStation post asking for this functionality to be reimplemented in the future. Sualp Ozel, Product Manager for Simulation Mechanical, has marked this request as future consideration.

Hi Andrew,

That is what i thought. I do agree with the other post, not having the possibility to use the software on a local cluster is a big limitation. Especially since all the other FEM packages are able to do this. I hope the functionality can be restored in future versions.

Best Regards,

J.
