Nonlinear Material Analysis with different element types

I am trying to run a static stress with nonlinear material models. I am using orthotropic shell elements, isotropic shell elements and brick/tetrahedron elements. I have used orthotropic elements with isotropic shell elements successfully before but am unable to get the model to solve. I am either getting an autotm limit error where the timestep is already set quite small. A simplified model with out 3D elements has been running for 24 hours but not made any convergedon the first of 20 timesteps.

Hi Zachary,

This issue may be occuring because your model is not statically stable. You may have some success if you switch over to a Mechanical Event Simulation, which is more full-feature non-linear analysis type. Do you have any surface contact in the model?
