NASTRAN From Command Line

Hi Everyone,

Is there a way to run an analysis from the command line that specifies NASTRAN as the solver? I've run through the Help Files again, and nothing is said about specifying the solver.

I am now exploring the powers of running from the command line because I have limited RAM, and it significantly helps to free up space when the Sim Mech interface is closed.

Best regards,

Christian

Hi Christian,

If you are using Sim Mech 2015, 2016, or 2017, it is not necessary to run an analysis from the command line if the only thing you want to do is close the Sim Mech interface. Analyses actually run in the Simulation Job Manager, so you can close the Sim Mech interface (or switch to a different model or design scenario) while the analysis is running.

But to answer your question, I came across this documentation recently: Section 1: NASTRAN Command Line.
