Kelvin voigt element

Dears,

Could you please let me know if is it possible to model linear spring parallel to the dash-pot (kelvin voigt) + a gap to model impact of 2 adjacent structure in Robot or not?

if yes the damping could be used in Nonlinear analysis?

Regards,

Alireza

Hi Alireza,

If your question is related to the software Robot Structural Analysis, then you will need to ask your question in the Robot Structural Analysis Forum.

In the software Simulation Mechanical, the dashpot element provides damping versus velocity. In combination with a spring element, it might provide the functionality that you are asking about, but I am not familiar with the details of the Kelvin Voigt theory.
