Hi,

This is my first post so i am hopefully you guys could help me.

Right now i'm performing an structural analysis in Simualtion Mechanical 2016. I ran the static stress and Natural Frecuency - Modal analysis without any issue. But now i'm trying to run an Response Spectrum analysis and the next error message come in the Log Result file:

"error: variable (KIND) out of bounds simulation mechanical"

"kind has been set to 1

I tried to found some information in the Autodesk Forums or Trobleshooting page and can't find something usefull.

I want to know what are the implications of this error in the results acuracy and how i can avoid it.

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi,

Take a look at the summary file. It should list what the "Kind" variables are.

It looks to me that the "output" type is not being set, so it defaults to the "Original Procedure". If that is the method that you wanted to use, then your results are okay. (The other methods are the "NRC Reg. Guide 1.92" and the "Modified Procedure".) These selections are made under the "Setup > Model Parameters > Setup > Spectrum Data" dialog.
