Hi Alejandro,

Is the file a solid model? Does it contain something else in the file that Simulation Mechanical cannot handle? Those are the two questions that you need to investigate.

  1. If the file does not contain any solid bodies, then you need to change the options when you try to open the file and open it as a wireframe. On the "File > Open" dialog, after setting the type of file to open (either DWG or DXF) click the "Options" button and set the correct settings.
  2. If the file does contain a solid body, does the file open with SimStudio Tools? (SimStudio Tools is a free CAD app that is installed with Simulation Mechanical.) If it opens, you can send the model from SimStudio Tools to Simulation Mechanical.
  3. The next thing that I would try is to save the file to a different format, such as .STEP or .SAT. Does that format open in Simulation Mechanical?

STEP o .SAT. ¿Este formato se abre en Simulation Mechanical?
