My question is about the range of application of the Critical Buckling Load solution.
Euler Critical Buckling is only valid for L/r ratios of around 100 or higher, and for these values the resulting critical buckling load will overestimate the buckling capacity but by a reasonably predictable ratio.
Buckling failure curves given in structural design codes are parallel to Euler for L/r > 100 and then predict much lower capacities for smaller L/r values. Is there a method in Simulation for predicting buckling in structures where the L/r make Critical Buckling invalid.
