Algor DesignCheck 23.1

I have a "forever" license to Algor DesignCheck (feature-limited) 23.1 that came as an Add-on to my Alibre Design Professional in about 2008.  I have been using it happily ever since, most to support my hobbies that don't require great sophistication.

I have purchased a new computer and have successfully transferred my Alibre (now GeoMagic Design Professional 2014) software and license to the new computer but I do not find anyway on the Autodesk website to move the Algor DesignCheck (feature-limited) 23.1 to my new compter.  There is discussion regarding how to export my license (for pre 2009) software, (and i'm not sure this will work for my software since I don't see the link mentioned) but no indication of how to move the software itself - it was originally downloaded on-line so no CD or similar.  I don't see anyway to download the software from Autodesk.

Hi GWaterman,

My name is Andrew Sartorelli and I'm one of the technical support specialists at Autodesk for Simulation Mechanical (formerly Algor). The Algor server used to generate licenses was decommissioned, so unfortunately new licenses can not be generated for Algor products. I'll be glad to check with some of my colleagues to see if anyone still has the install media for Algor 23.1. I can also have someone from our sales team get in touch with you if you'd like to get some more information about the possibility of transitioning to the latest Autodesk release.

Andrew, As I just use this for my hobbies today, I am not interested in
upgrading to the newer products at this time (In my consulting I mostly have
my clients use professional analysts). I would appreciate it if there is a
way to download the install media for Algor 23.1 but will I be able to
activate it with my old license key?

Hi Sualp,

My Algor license number is AE65841. (I just responded to Andrew's reply
that since I now use this really only for my hobbies, I am not interested in
upgrading to a later product at this time). If there is any way to get the
Algor 23.1 on my new computer and activated I would appreciate it. I see
there are on-line sites that allow downloads of various software to people
who already own licenses (for a small fee) and I have seen Algor 23.1 in
these lists - is that another option?

George

Hi Adam,

Regrettably, we're unable to generate new licenses for this product. As a courteous to legacy Algor customers individuals at Autodesk maintained a server to generate new licenses files for this product for a number of years, however due to security concerns the server was decommissioned. As part of the process of acquiring certain technology assets of Algor, existing customers were provided the opportunity to convert to being an Autodesk customer of Autodesk Simulation Mechanical/Multiphysics. We do have a number of different FEA products available under annual licenses that make the upfront cost a bit easier. I can have one of your local resellers contact you with information about your options there.

Regards,
Andrew

ALGOR DesignCheck 23.1 was released back in 2008-2009 and was limited to analyzing single part objects for Linear static stress under basic surface loading conditions such as pressure.

I recommend that you give Fusion 360 a try.

http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/

Simulation capabilities included in Fusion 360 are NOT limited to single parts. You can analyze assemblies for Linear Static Stress, Modal, Thermal and thermal stress.  You can apply various surface, edge and vertex based loads and constraints.

Fusion 360 works on Windows and Mac

Fusion 360 is not forever and I must pay for it. I have bought software with "forever license", it was good, I will not pay money for something that I already paid. in attachment is my old license file. I have new computer so the old license file is rejected. I'm sure that you have simple program that generate the license file based on the data that I have attached in my message: Prefix : If not I think that you should give me my money back (because I can't use software that I have paid). I think that any court will grant me the right.

Hi Adam,

Did you see @Andrew.Sartorelli post on the inability to create a licence file for you?

As for @Sualp.Ozel suggestion on Fusion 360 and you response above. Fusion is Free for students, enthusiasts, hobbyists, and startups even if you are using it for profit it's still free till you hit a certain Income and at the income point you have to start paying for it affordability is it's middle name.

check out the program here.

Thanks for your understanding
