Problem of unknown error : ERROR (1)

During the execution of a MES I have the following error message :

 ......

2.83828125E-01  14.1914     0.000078  7   3   4.4643E-01
  2.83789062E-01  14.1895     0.000039  8   1   1.0000E+00
  2.83789062E-01  14.1895     0.000039  8   2   9.6534E-01
  2.83789062E-01  14.1895     0.000039  8   3   6.7610E-01
 ** Error (1)
 ** Job started           : 2014-07-08  10:57:30
 ** Job finished          : 2014-07-08  14:00:08
 ** Total elapsed time    : 3:1:38 (hours:minutes:seconds)
 !! Program aborted !

I use a shell element model with large displacements and surface contacts areas. The material model is a Von Mises curve with kinematic hardening.

Stress and strain values are still in the range of the material. Contact is not yet occuring. There are no distorded elements or other strange behavior. I have still 35 Gb of free space on the HD.

What does mean " error (1) " ?

Usually is that a material do not has all properties define correctly.

This is a kind of random crash error, which results from file handling.  This kind of file handling issue sometimes is caused by capability of intel complier and VS.  This issue can be found by google.

To fix this on current situation, we can try to improve the convergence and then avoid this error.  Based on the log file you attached, the covergence is too bad, since the contact has not started.  Please attach a figure of your model.  One more thing,  which shell element type are you using? whether the shell thickness is much smaller than the other two dimension for each shell part?

I have a same issue in MES analysis

This analysis has a good convergence until forced termination. But the analysis is abruptly terminated. This issue randomly occurs.

This analysis model contains four parts and uses solid elements.

How to resolve the issue?

We have noticed this random crash error, and we are working on this fix, and adding detailed error information for ERROR(1) issue.

First, did you try to run from command line?  This trial can help check whether the Job Manager results in this issue for your model which has good convergence.

Second, could you share the model to us? I did gather a few models for different cases, while your model might help us find out different issue.

Unfortunately, I cannot share the model because the model contains end-user's detailed design parts.

But I will try to run this model from command line.  And after that I will share this information.

Thanks.
Best regards,

In the last days i run multiples mes simulations of an earthquake . There was a lot of error(1) most of the time a simple restart of the system and a restart of the MES can solve the problem. If something that happened to me if a cancelled a job previously and run a new analysis .  As soon as i get access to the files( i m running an analysis at the moment) i will upload the files..

Hi,

I tried to run this model (which is same model on above) from command line.

Although I have repeated several times this analysis, I didn't have 'Error(1)'

issue in these repeated analysis.

Is this a useful information to resolve this issue?

Thanis,

Amatsuda

That's another helpful evidence to my doubt on Simulation Job Manager.  We will figure out the issue.

I had the same problem. I also run ut from the command line and it worked.

It consisted of a model with non-linear materials and surface contacts.

Can you share the model to me?  I am working on fixing the Error (1) issue.

Hello,

I surely can. What are the files you need?

Is it enough if I give you just the .fem file or you need other stuff as well?

It is just that the calculated folder has about 5GB of data.

Thanks

Could you "Archieve->Create->Save (Model only)" the model and then send it to me (shoubing.zhuang@autodesk.com)?

Thanks,
