Let's talk about Glass

So I am having some issues with my glass (clear glass, showcase texture) magnifying really badly.

I'm rendering (well, lol, trying to) a shower scene and it's got clear glass door in front of the whirlpool tub.  If I leave the doors closed, it makes the inside of the tub look weird, if I slightly open one door it really makes it look weird (then whatever part isn't behind glass is normal, and the rest is super magnified (kind alike looking through the edge of someone's thick glasses).

Basically the 3' deep tub looks like it's 12" deep once rendered.

This may be a little late, but try this:

In the material properties, under Transparency, find the "Refractive index" under the "Ray Tracing Properties" Sub heading.

Bring that number as close to 1 as possible. I like to use a value between 1.01 to 1.05.

Hope that helps.
