Showcase and Screencast

Screencast does not correctly record Showcase.

With AERO theme desactivated, Screencast does not start.

1. Launch sreencast

2. Launch Showcase

3. Recording...

4. Cry : https://screencast.autodesk.com/Main/Details/a239f751-6a20-4232-9110-ec58bda0f7c1

The Window is duplicated and scaled : the action shown is not under the cursor....

Cursor seems to be in the big window, freezed, in the background.

Visible action is in the foreground, in a scaled window.

Any fix ?

Hi Idubail,

Is there a specific reason why you're deactivating AERO theme? Currently, the Screencast Recorder is able to record properly only when the Desktop Composition is enabled. We recommened  users to switch to the Aero theme because that typically enables Desktop Composition.

Try recording a screencast with 'Desktop Composition' enabled. I'm hoping this will fix your issue.

Thanks,

Sree

Hi,

Thank you for reply.

My problem is that when I start Showcase, the Windows Aero Theme is automatically desactivated.

Do you know if it's possible to start Showcase and keep in "Desktop composition" ?

(I'm not at the office this week...).

Thanks for the tip.

Even if, when Showcase is running, you re-activate Aero theme, Screencast make a bad recording.

No solution...

Do not use Screencast whith Autodesk Showcase, that's it ! ;o)

You can't have Showcase open when you start a recording. You need to start a recording, then launch Showase:

1. Start a screencast recording

2. Specify a region

3. Launch Showcase

4. Load the model

5. Do your thing!

6. Edit (Cut) the first part where Showcase is loading

Here's an example: http://autode.sk/1AJ0ieL
