Wire Sling / Cables in Conveyor Design

Hello Everyone,

Currently I am planning to reinforce the existing conveyor building with the addition of wire slings / cables. How to do that correctly using RSA? I have done several ways by creating new sections, tension members, creating cable sections. But still get maps member ratio that overstressed.

 Thank You

Hi @adnan_muharam

Before analyzing stress ratio or other, you must correct your model as it’s a non linear structure, then:
- Merge all wires sling and tension rods
- Apply cable function to wire sling
- Set tension rod as tension only truss
- Delete members (LE 100x100x13) joining tension rod bars (Before analyzing stress ratio or other, you must correct your model as it’s a non linear structure, then:
Merge all wires sling and tension rods

Set tension rod as tension only truss
Delete members (LE 100x100x13) joining tension rod bars (no effect on results, but create instabilities on trusses)
You may then analyse results according to your code
