Where can I find "Calculation Options"?

Hello,

I am very new to Robot and I was reviewing some of the different inputs for advanced options in calculations and would like to access "Calculation Options". When I go to the "Analysis" menu there isn't a box for "Calculation Options". Here is a link to what I am referring to and a screenshot of what my program looks like.

Do I need to select a certain code in the job preferences before I am able to access it? So far I haven't been able to find it.

Thank you in advance,

Lauren

Hi @Anonymous

The topic from RSA Help  is for RC Column Design

The Calculation Options option allows for setting the parameters / calculation options to be used during concrete column design

whereas the screen capture shows commands intended to calculate a model (e.g. of a building).

The question is what is your objective: do you want to design reinforcement or do you want to set advanced types of analysis for to calculate a 'whole' model?

Thank you for your response @Artur.Kosakowski and @Rafacascudo. I am trying to consider the moment redistribution in RC walls. I referred to that page because it describes how to get to the calculations options dialog. I saw on the following page that there is an option to consider the plastic moment which I believe may be what I am looking for.

Hi @Anonymous

I'm sorry but there is no such functionality in Robot. What you can do is to define elastic linear releases

Thank you, @Artur.Kosakowski. My main concern is that there are a few nodes with particularly high concentrated peaks in the moment for top and bottom reinforcement. Is there a way to average these values other than creating panel cuts and taking the average?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Anonymous

You may try to use the reduction of forces over (at supports or above the columns or walls) or just ignore the peaks (if over supports) and e.g. look at the results in the centers of the neighboring elements instead.

Thank you, @Artur.Kosakowski. I think I may try the reduction of forces and compare that to my current results and the table results that I have calculated. Where can I find the option to reduce the forces at supports for a wall?
