Hi everyone, let say all the slabs at this floor is subjected to a same load of 5kN/m2, which type of load should i apply (uniform planar or uniform planar on contour) ? I have tried both and both give me different result during analysis. Can someone expert here explain to me the difference between the two function here, thanks.

Hi everyone, let say all the slab at this floor will be subjected with the same load of 5kN/m2. Which load function should i use? Is it uniform planar load function where i applied the load to each slab or i can just use the uniform planar load on contour function where i applied the load to every slab at this floor at once? Because i tried both function and both give me different end result during analysis. Thanks

Hi @efyjw7

The results should be the same. In your case Uniform planar load is the best option.

hi @efyjw7

no difference except that one is simpler to implement but depending on how the points of the contour load are defined with regard to the contour as well as which object is loaded, this can have unexpected results. Could you share your model ?

Hi @efyjw7 ,

You didn't properly assign load on contour:

As you have separated slabs within one floor, the list for LL1 for example should looks like  502to504 506to510 512to516 518 519 521to523 525to529 531to535 537to541  instead of 535
