Welded beam-to-column web connection

Hello,

I can't seem to find a way to model a welded beam to column web connection or, even better to a plate - as shown in the attached pic (gray is the column, red is a plate welded to flanges, green is a beam, stiffeners not shown). All there is are bolted connections called Angles This or Angles That.

Is there a way to model this or a similar scenario (e.g., gray column rotated 90 degrees, so it's a beam)? Both members are same size.

Hi @Stephane.kapetanovic but I am not really sure what you are implying with the suggestion.

It looks more like a task for a specific connection design software.

hi @dailKQKAV

There isn't a connection type that matches your drawing, so I thought you might prefer to calculate it using finite elements. The proposed macro can help you create your model, as it allows you to quickly model plates from bars.

Thanks @Stephane.kapetanovic.

It looks like the connection design will end up with someone else after all, but that macro appears to be a great little nugget useful for all sorts of things.
