User defined member stability check

Hi

I have created a member in section builder to represent lost section due to corrosion. The steel design carries out the SECTION CHECK but not the MEMBER STABILITY CHECK. This is therefore giving me a lower ratio for the corroded member (0.22) than the uncorroded member (0.26). How do I check the stability of the member?

Have you assigned this section the I symbol saving it to the user database?

Hi Artur

When I select an I section it requires new dimensions to be inserted in the "Saving Section to Database" which only allows me to insert one thickness for both flanges. I'm assuming that I have to make both flanges the thickness of the corroded lower flange?

That would be one of the options but I think that the approach suggested by StefanoPasquini6790 may be a better one 

In case you want to have such section in the user sectiion database you should edit its properties in the section database browser and change is type to 95. See the pdf from the post 11 from http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis/how-to-create-thin-walled-sections/td-p/3107...
