SUSPENSION BRIDGE PROBLEM!

Hi guys,

Any thoughts on the best way to model a suspension bridge? I'am really struggeling with a digital model of suspension bridge built in norway in 1954, for a school-assignment. I am struggeling with the connections with the beams, deck and cables.  I've had a quick try but seem to be coming unstuck.

It seems to me that this sort of model is actually not really possible, and maybe I should be looking at other options? Can somebody help me with the model?

Simon

I have the same suspended bridge and tried following your advices, however, there is always message error of instability. Could you help me to check the model?

Thank you in advance and best regards!

Hi Artur/Simenp.

From the last PNG of this trhead I can see that your bridge has a stiffness beam.

I can not see the rtd file because my robot version is previous than yours.  My question is, how do you achieve that the stiffness beam gets 0 stresses for the assembly case as you know that the theory of suspension bridges assume that the stiffness beam starts working for live load, temperature, etc. but not for self weight that is assumed by the cable.

Thanks in advance.
