Snap settings

Hi,

I ticked all “Snap settings” under snap setting dialogue box.

When I did my project, only two types of snap icons showed all the time, the one with “triangle” and another with “circle”. I believe triangle is icon for “mid – point” snap but for circle I am not sure represent what (I searched an explanation for snap icon but didn't find)

With only these 2 icons, I can't control the level of beams which connect to column. Each time I connected beams to column it snapped to centre of column hence make beam's level higher than top of column (see attachment). I want level of beams flush with top of column.

Did I forget some settings???

Regards,

Hi @rimutaka

While creating a structural (analytical) model you should think in terms of genre lines of your profiles rather their exact shapes as they are only bar attributes. In other words you should have common nodes for both column and beams so that they act together. What you have on the picture is perfectly right.
