Slab with drop panel

Dear all:

Am modeling slab with drop panels on RSA, I just need to ask several questions:

1-Am modeling the whole slab and then model the square or rectangular drop panel around columns, is that correct?

2-Am assigning the load on the slab only , shall I assign the load also on the drop panel ?

2 - Basically yes, but sometimes it depend on the load's type
