Slab - Reinforcement

chrismcc

Good morning,

I have prepared a simple model, performed As required and then As provided in the x direction bottom.  That all seems to work.  I then select "slab - reinforcement" and when I change between + and - I can only see the top steel in the graphic, no bottom steel, even though in the table, my manual x direction reinforcement is listed correctly.  Any ideas please?

Thank you

Rafal,

Thank you.  I now have the slab reinforcement as I want it on screen.  Can I output this into Autocad?

Regards

Hi Chris,

You can export your reinforcement in Autocad Structural Detailing, reinforced concrete module, importing from asd the robot reinf.

Unfortunately Autocad Structural Detailing is dead in version 2016 (and I hate adsk for this), but you can use version 2015.

Thank you Stefano.

I understand ASD is a separate Autocad package?  I did have a look yesterday.  It is odd that all the information is there in Robot and it can't be saved as a dwg file.  I can't even save the image as a png file.  With screenshots of As Required, I create the "e" file (explorer) which gives me all of the png files in a folder.  I then use these as a background in Autocad to generate my reinforcement detailing instructions.  However, I get an error when I try to do the same with screenshots of the "slab-reinforcement" graphic.  Any ideas?

Hi,

you can use a "save as drawing" command in the file tool, see the following picture:

REINF_SLABS.jpg

this way you can "plot" to a dxf file all the info that you have on the robot screen (drawing). In ACAD you have to edit the drawing to fit all the info in your own format....it'a a "long" and "preistoric" workflow.

Cheers

Hello Stefano,

That works for me.  I have been doing this manually using the As required maps which I save as a png file and insert to Autocad as a background.  I did not realise that I could save the drawing as a dxf file.

In As required, I save a standard colour scheme that corresponds to bar sizes at certain centres.  It would be great if I could open the same .scl file in As provided, but I can't.

Thanks for your help - it has moved me on to the next stage.

Regards

Chris

Thanks for the response.

I have resolved it. I had to analyse all over again. Now I need to send my Slab reinforcement to Revit 2017. This is what I did.  From the Add ins menu_Integration_Autodesk Revit Structure. Then I did the following settings: Send model to revit; Direct integration; Send Only selected part of structure; Transfer Reinforcement Projects (Beams, Columns, Spread footing). At the end of the transfer, I still do not see the slab reinforcements in the Updated Revit model. Please see the attached for The error message received. Please help to advise on the workflow to integrate slab reinforcements to Revit Structure. A video will also be appreciated. Regards.

Slab reinforcement is not transferable to Revit.

Thanks Rafal

I am still trying to understand why Robot slab reinforcements are not transferable to Revit. Because, to us here, that was what we thought would be one of the added advantages of the software. Could you advise me about other alternatives for proper presentation of slab reinforcement drawings.

Hi all

No one has answered me about my question. I need advise about better ways to present Robot slab reinforcement drawings. What I noticed was that the reinforcement drawings are seperated into X+, Y+, X- and Y-. How do I combine all these layers into one presentable drawing.

Regards

Hi Ajiri Ivovi,

the best solution to your issue is to use Autocad Structural Detailing to import the slab reinforcement and present the drawings as you want....there are many options and settings to create a clear drawing and bill of material.

Unfortunately Autocad structural detailing is dead in 2015 version and in Robot 2017 the link between the softwares it doesn't work anymore......very very bad choice made by autodesk...

Hope I help you, cheers
