Section Definition Accuracy Issue / Possible Bug

Hi,

I imported a DXF into section definition tool in RSA and when I first imported it, it seems nearly identical to the DXF shape but when I added an opening inside it, the shape became simpler, and some details are fully ignored.

I adjusted the initial import discretization parameters and I have no issues with this setting but adding an opening from the existing lines shouldn't simplify the model. I wanted to use imported dxf lines as is, is there a way to add opening without simplifying the shapes or curves?

It may be a SW bug because I only changed the selected part from solid to opening, the points or lines are not altered.

Can you send/attach the dxf file?

That´s weird but it works . Just increase the decimals for " section dimensions" on Tools/Job preferences and it will beautifully work.

It works with your original DXF ,But try to explode arcs on autocad before importing into robot . For some reason I was not able to explode them . So I opened the DXF on RSA main program as if it was a structure.. It worked(use 0,01 for scaling). The arcs were transformed to polygonal bars. Then I saved the model as a DXF and only then I imported it as a solid section on " Section definition" module.

Also try to minimize the number of segments ,especially on the tight curves of your section . This will make things easier for RSA especially when calculating  "additional properties calculations"
