SDOF oscillator model in Robot

Hello

I would like to do some modal and response spectrum validation work with Robot (to understand the seismic input parameters), and so would like to build a simple SDOF oscillator model, ie mass on a stick

Does anyone know how I can

a) build a bar element with defined stiffness, but zero mass.

b) assign a mass to the end of the bar

I can then run a modal analysis and input spectra into the model to obtain a known result to validate the program to understand the inputs and parameters before going on to bigger models.

Thanks

for a) , create a material with Zero specific weight and assign it to your bar . On Tolls/ Job preferences

For b)  , create a load case and apply nodal mass to the top node

In order to neglect self-weight mass in dynamic analysis you may also check "Disregard density" option in Modal Analysis definition.
