Revit to Robot integration - Compound Sections

Good day everyone!

I have a question I hope you could answer. I'm working on a steel model in Robot with a compound section, as shown below. I want to export this model into Revit to calculate quantities and generate blueprints for construction and fabrication, but every time I try to export a model with a compound section into Revit, the latter crashes because of the section. I know the compound section is the problem because I tried exporting the model without those sections and it works just fine.

Is there any way to create a compound section in Revit? Or is there any way to generate the construction and fabrication blueprints in Robot?

Thank you so much for your time and for your answer!

Hi @judaolsa

Robot >Revit link does not support compound sections. The following workflow is recommended (regards compound and user defined sections).

  1. Temporarily (just before exporting to Revit) replace such sections by standard ones (existing in both software like I,or L).
  2. Export model from Robot Structural Analysis to Revit.
  3. Change sections back to correct ones in Revit (families for required sections types should be loaded to the project).
