Reinforced Concrete Column Design - Reinforcement Pattern.rxd

Hello,

I have defined several reinforcement patterns for different sizes of columns and saved them as .rxd files.  However, I am only able to open 3 patterns on the Reinforcement Pattern tab in the RC component inspector - Standard, 250*1000.rxd and 500*1000.rxd.  I am unable to access any other patterns.  The patterns are all set up for each column size.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Chris

Hi @chrismcc

You may need to verify if your reinforcement patterns are existing as (.rccx file ) in CfgUsr folder.

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis XXXX\CfgUsr

If it isn’t, then try to redefine your missing reinforcement patterns and saving each one of them respectively.

Hi @chrismcc

Is it possible that you defined them for different code? If yes, they will not be possible until this code has been selected in Job Preferences. Could you attach these rccx files?

I just wanted to check if any of the suggestions worked for you.

Hello,
Apologies for the silence.  I worked on this over the weekend and have a couple of things to go through which I will put on the forum.

Refaat,

Thank you for the information.  I will be posting a pdf document in a few minutes detailing my design process (which may be incorrect or overly complicated).  Your answer did help as I found out that rxd files are saved by "reinforcement of columns" and by "reinforcement pattern".  It is the latter which are saved in the cfgusr file.  I don't know where the rxd files under "reinforcement of columns" are saved.  This was causing me a problem.

I would be pleased if you would look at the pdf file and tell me what you think.

Thanks

Chris

Artur,

Thank you.  Please find attached a pdf file where I have tried to explain my process and where I am confused about the process.  I think the problem is with "reinforcement of columns" and where this rxd file is saved.

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris,

1. Story parameters, Calculation options and Reinforcement pattern is saved in rccx file in CfgUSr folder

2. Typical reinforcement pattern is saved in rdx file in the folder you selected. The options from the point 1 are not part of the rdx file

3. I can see any issue with drawings

Thank you Artur.

I watched your video carefully and you opened the drawing differently.  Please see my attached pdf - the last page.

Thanks

Hi @chrismcc

The option on the last picture from the pdf generates a (new) drawing.

Could you attach the rtd file you took the one before the last picture where you have all the drawings generated? If you have the file saved on a network drive copy it locally first and then check if you can open the drawings from the Inspector first.

Hi @chrismcc

The issue with opening already saved drawings has been corrected in HF1 for RSA 2018. Mind that for your file you have first delete all already existing drawings and then generate them again to see the effect.
