Provided (Real) Reinforcement of a SHELL

Hello,

 

Is it possible at all?

 

I managed to run only 'required reinforcement' by selecting:  Design-> Required reinforcement of Slabs/Walls Options -> Calculations (Plate/shell Reinforcement). Table plate/shell reinforcement and maps  are available.

 

When I try to enter 'Provided reinforcement'  by selecting my panel and picking  Design->Provided reinforcement of RC Elements   I get an information in 'Calculation Status' window:

 

"Panel no XXX. The element will not be included in the provided reinforcement modules. Selected object is not flat. (how can a shell be flat??)

 

Am I doing something wrong?

 

I did not find similar topic. Help!

It has to be a perfect plane.
Shell type structure means that normal forces and moments act in its finite elements

Could you explain, what do you mean by perfect plane?

 

I tried to do the same thing but with different shape: pipe cutted in half (model.png) and after entering Provided Reinforcement of RC Elements module I get an error:

 

" Indicated objects must be lying in the same plane."   It sound crazy considering I'm trying design a SHELL.

You can calculate required (theoretical ) are of reinforcement for a panel with an arbitrary shape however the distribution of reinforcement (provided reinforcement) is limited to panels that are flat being floors or walls of a building rather than representing of a cylindrical tunnel or a tank.
