Project Octopus seamlessly access Robot data and results with Excel

The newest addin from Autodesk Labs  - Project Octopus that allows designers and engineers using Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis to seamlessly access data and results with Microsoft Office Excel. To know more about it please use this link.

Octopus has got a new update! Many thanks to DEV team!

1) Panel Data

The formula returns values of several properties assigned to panels in RSA. You can use this formula to read the geometry, area, material, and calculation model of selected panels.

2) Panel Thickness

The formula provides a complete set of values which define the thickness of selected panel in RSA. You can use this formula to analyze the type of the thickness and read values of properties which are specific to given thickness type which are assigned to given panel.

3) Extreme Results for Plates and Shells

New result formulas provide information about minimum and maximum values of forces, displacements, and stresses for surface elements. You can obtain global extremes as well as define specific criteria to be considered when searching for an extreme value only within a selected part of the structure. As a result you retrieve the extreme value of selected result and the information describing where the extreme occurs.

Robot 2016 has a new application - Results Connect (ex Project Octopus). Results Connect is automatically installed with Robot by default.

I don´t have RSA 2016. How can I use this features with RSA 2015?

This feature is available for those who can take advantage of the upgrade to RSA 2016. I recognize that this is not possible for all customers due to a variety of factors.
