I want to offset my floor to have same levels as beams. Which is better way offset with transfer of stiffness or without transfer of stiffness. Which is better way?

Hi @pics.munmun

There is no offset option for plates available in Robot. You can offset beams only.

also note when you offset the beam you will need to add rigid links between the beam bar and each of the slab/panel mesh nodes along the beam line otherwise there will be no force transfer along the beam length.

Hi @DonBAE @pics.munmun

When Offset option is used for bar members (Geometry >Additional Attributes>Offsets) rigids links are created automatically.

That does appear to be the case although the beam graphic does not show as offset?

it will only show the offset when in the offset dialog?

This is incredibly confusing because it makes it seem like the offset didn't take.

Hi

In default view Robot does not present most of attributes (loads, releases, linear releases, offsets, imperfections etc). It does not mean that they do not exist in the model. View with all attributes on is not clear.

Attribute can be activated after opening its dialog. It is possible to present it permanently in view from View >Display list

@Krzysztof_Wasik ah thank you, I wrongly assumed that once an offset was created Robot would automatically then enable the showing of offsets globally.

Is there a similar view setting to see the automatically generated rigid links created by the offset?

Hi @DonBAE

For bar with offsets, rigid links are presented at bar end nodes only, when offset display is activated.
