Hello. 

I am a student who is working on a network arch bridge for my thesis. 
i am doing most of the modeling in Dynamo an importing it to Robot. 

so what i am wondering is how does my overall system look?

are my use of rigid links and releses correct?

and is the soulution of using tension bars the best way of modeling cabels for this case?

(this is a parametric model, so i have not verifyed the sections in this model)

Yes

Yes . longer cable is around 10m and not very inclined , so sagging will be minimum.

 

    You don´t need to converge load cases like wind ,live load , temperature. Set them as auxiliary . Focus on converging real life loads like Self-weight and combinations containing Self-Weight . On a nonlinear analysis like yours every combination is treated like a regular load case and solved individually.

Thank you for your answer. 

i do set the loads as auxiliary after making combinations, but the file i posted is "fresh" out of dynamo so i have not made the combinations jet. 

The model also contain a user defined cross section (bridge box girder) witch is modeled as "solid section" in robot from a DXF- file. how reliable is the results that comes out for that cross section?

If it is done correctly, I hope it is very reliable because I have done hundreds of sections like that in section definition module

Hello again.

i have a problem with my model. 

the "deformation" of the rigid links dont behave as i want when connected to the bridge deck. as you can se in the picture i am posting here. 

 

what is wrong? how can i model this to make it behave like all the cables are connected to a relative stiff deck?

I think i solved this myself. the section has for some reason been saved without information on torsion stiffness
