Modeling CLT+Concrete composite with rigid links

Hello all

I am trying to model CLT (crosslaminated) timber panel (thickness 200mm) and concrete composite floor slab (thickness 80mm) with rigid links. Both elements are modeled as shells. FE mesh size 200x200mm. Floor slab dimensions 6700x1000mm. I have defined CLT as an orthotropic material and concrete as a homogeneous material with C25/30 properties. Should something like this (composite between 2 shells) even be attempted in Robot... I mean can I expect "correct" results with rigid links? For this test we can assume that the composite effect between CLT and concrete is total - no slippage.

Figure 1. Green - concrete shell 80mm, Blue - CLT shell 200mm. Thickness display option turned on.

Figure 2. Rigid links connecting every node. Thickness display option turned off.

Any feedback greatly appreciated !

This is the only way you can model such panel in Robot. Yo may consider blocking rotations in the definition of rigid links and having the supports defined in the "middle" of the panel or at the levels of both panels depending on the existing boundary conditions.

Dear Tanel96,

Could you share the file so I can experiment with it? I'm also trying to do some testing with Polystyrene and concrete sandwhich panel with Rigid links.

Its my first attempt and would like to know how you have it setup.
