Model Generation for a structure with linear loads on 2 points takes ages

Hi There,

I had a previous model that ran fine with the generation of the computational model compiling in a minute or two and Static Linear Analysis Running in a few minutes.

I have since updated some of the model geometry and loads. Now when generating the computational model the process box won't close and seems to pause on Applying Loads.

Please could you help. I don't know what has changed to make the model take so long.

Many Thanks,

Kind Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex,

your model was made in 2015 release of Robot and moreover without the latest updates (v.28.0.3 and not v.28.0.5).

In this release the incorrect definition of linear load on 2 points on zero length segment can result in stopping model generation.

There are 2 solutions for this effect:

1/ finding and deleting such incorrect load record

or
2/ using 2016 or higher release of Robot, where such incorrect load records are ignored

I have found such incorrect load record in your model and deleted it.

Such fixed model (correction made in 2015 release) attached to this post.

Hi Pawel,

Thank you very much for your swift response.

The model now runs perfectly.

I've noted your comments re definition of linear loads in 2015 and how these can stop model generation.

Thank you once again. The support and speed of response is very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Alex
