Hello everyone!
It is my first time here and I need your help for my master thesis which I am doing with ARSA...
I am trying to make a model for an extradosed bridge with box girder deck in a 3D model. Until now I have modelled the “lightened sections” as panels that behave as a “slab – rigid diaphragm” as I consider that the shell model is not adequate because it does only show the axial stresses. Is this consideration correct?
Besides, the sections of the deck that have cables attached must be solid, which I do not know how to do in order for the model to work correctly… At the moment they appear like a void because I have only modelled the "lightned" sections.
And one last aspect, the cross-section has a "beam" in each side as shown in the drawing below. I have modelled this as a bar that goes along the edge of the panels that conform the deck, will this work?
I do not consider making a bar model because the teacher told me to do it as a 3D model.
