Model for box girder bridge

Hello everyone!

It is my first time here and I need your help for my master thesis which I am doing with ARSA...

I am trying to make a model for an extradosed bridge with box girder deck in a 3D model. Until now I have modelled the “lightened sections” as panels that behave as a “slab – rigid diaphragm” as I consider that the shell model is not adequate because it does only show the axial stresses. Is this consideration correct?

Besides, the sections of the deck that have cables attached must be solid, which I do not know how to do in order for the model to work correctly… At the moment they appear like a void because I have only modelled the "lightned" sections.

And one last aspect, the cross-section has a "beam" in each side as shown in the drawing below. I have modelled this as a bar that goes along the edge of the panels that conform the deck, will this work?

I do not consider making a bar model because the teacher told me to do it as a 3D model.

You may fint he model uploaded here: https://we.tl/t-Pokh4FlwhG

Thank you very much for all your considerations! They will be highly appreciated.

Good day Engineer !
I’ve been going through this amazing thread (as I am currently working on a prestressed box girder project), and I have some questions.
I would like to know how the vehicular load and area loading was applied to your bar only model.
Also did you divide the bridge crossection into more than one singular bar?
2. Is it accurate to apply a cladding on top of the bar so as to apply the vehicle/traffic area loads for the purpose of a longitudinal analysis?
3. Is the transverse analysis model an “all panels” or a bar for the bottom part and panel for the top side of the box girder bridge.
Thanks!

Lastly, how would you approach the bar modeling/transverse analysis, if the box girder deck was with a varying depth. (Say to be constructed with the balanced cantilever method)
