Meshing panel under cladding

Is it possible to mesh a panel underneath a cladding?

I have a large panel that has previously been meshed.

I have then applied cladding panels at various locations on the "already meshed panel" in order to apply patch UDL's to the main panel.

I now want to re-mesh the panel, after some support position modifications. however when i do this the areas on the panel where the claddings are located dont seem to get meshed?

Is there a way around this problem or is it a case of deleting the claddings (with loads attached), re-meshing the main panel and then re-apply all the cladding and loads? ...I hope not 😕

Interesting 🙂

Do you know that cladding applies loads to bars and panels edges, not to panels = FEs?

I guess they were treated as openings.

Create smaller panels or use "Uniform PLanar Load on Contour" or "Planar load 3p on Contour".

Rafal,

I actually didnt know this 😕 Thanks!

Ive replaced the cladding with UPL on Contours (makes a lot more sense) and everything seems to be working fine, but, when I apply the panel interiors I seem to get what looks like an ope where the cladding used to be?

(this is happening at just one location i.e. it didnt happen at the other locations where ive replaced the cladding with Uniform Planar Loads on Contours)

Any idea why?

The panel seems to be meshing over this "open area", so it is maybe just a visual thing?

I think you need to modify panel contour slightly and then correct this modification to force program to redraw panel interior.
If it will not hep: please send us file .
