Mesh consolidation

Hi,

 

Is there other way to increase the mesh size in order to decrease the number of objects in the model?

 

Please see figure below

I have tried to edit in meshing options and re-generate calculation model, I also have tried consolidation of mesh elements (all mesh were unfrozen)  but It doesn't do anything.

Thy these steps:

 

1. Select the panel(s)

2. Change mesh size

3. If these panels have frozen meshes run local meshing. If not, you can run model generation as well.

Hi @kennethleslie.lua

You can reduce the number of meshing nodes using a bigger distance or in your case i recommend using the complex mesh (delaunary), that will make a stiff mesh at critical points and the distance will be increased going away.

To force the program to change the mesh if it didn't respond to your new settings (options), just set forced in the forcing ratio.mesh.png

Hi Artur,

 

I have tried changing the mesh size and re-running/generating the model

 but it still doesn't do anything

I have just re-modelled it to reduce the number of elements.

 

However, it might still be a problem in the future. I attached my previous model for your reference

Hi @kennethleslie.lua

 

Modelling with fixed divisions of arches and extrusion you actually decided on mesh size at this stage rather than when you set the mesh element size. If you switch off the arch discretization the size of the mesh element in this direction will be governed by meshing parameters but in the perpendicular direction it will still be governed by the number of divisions set for the extrusion unless instead of extruding the arch you copy to and connect the arches  with lines.
