Maximum slenderness limit AS4100 1998

Hi, I've been encountering the instability warning in the steel design calculations (AS 4100-1998). I cannot seem to find the clause on this slenderness limit ratio in AS 4100 1998, so I wondering how these two limits of Compression: 200 and Tension: 300 are obtained from?

Thanks,

I can't say for 100% sure, but I have heard a rumour that it was added to Robot for another (Canadian) code, then left in for the AU code as the developers couldn't find a slenderness limit in AS4100.

Not really sure if this is true though.

Tony is right. It is based on the analogy to other steel design codes :-).
