maximum permissible loading

Hello

Does robot structural analysis solve for maximum permissible loading.

for example if i have an HEA 200 beam of length 6 m can robot solve for the maximum point load it can support at the middle

You can run verification of such beam according to the selected design code and increase the force till the safety ratio is 1.0.

You may find the recording of the 3rd Robot webinar on steel design helpful. It is accessible from:

Thank you

That is what I was doing , I thought there is an easier way

Another issue concerning lateral buckling

If I make analysis of simply supported beam with point load at the middle it
passes with lateral buckling unchecked but fails when checked

For such beams we should consider lateral buckling??

Best Regards

It depends on beam cross section and if the beam is restricted laterally ( by a slab, for example)or not
